道路左边 渐渐侵入的流沙群

两只追逐的狗 远远地
6 h7 _' o4 o! p' v+ Z S0 p: y" W! g2 V 从路基上倾斜而下
6 s2 l' Z- x/ u* e, V 钻进了一片疲倦不堪的矮树林
0 n% Q) k" r2 L; A% m 那辆风狂的卡车
$ E2 O+ e, T7 Y/ A! ?4 c 扔下我们 拖着尘土的长龙
6 k3 W2 }6 \- Z% p" \ T! ?2 L. A+ o 很快地消失在山路的拐角上

In Open land under a crag on the plateau

Far off two chasing dogs( O/ B7 q7 e3 s0 l/ G' p5 O' p! `
Swerved down from the roadbed1 i _6 Z5 |/ \7 l4 t" I% ^
And plunged into exhausted bushes6 |& Y3 P3 M0 K; n3 _, }
The mad lorry
Y* i; F+ r* w ~2 Q/ L9 c Threw us off and vanished quickly, L/ O2 q2 J {! i# k
In a trail of dust5 c# i! C8 O! l# i
Round the bend of the hill road0 I5 A: }9 O2 J
And all sound stopped
% b9 {" n v1 [ In direct sunlight
( G! \) ~ j$ n1 w The lad coming to meet us in railway uniform
& B1 R1 ]+ U/ @) P2 t8 W Broke off his slow whistling
& t# @1 a( E- A And we knew from his interrogative gaze
Q$ F6 N) t5 P7 l5 a That we were doomed to be abandoned here, e* u5 B( x! Z' C! m. y
The distant little station
) F% @- F9 i$ i" }1 F- e3 s( J Looked almost forgotten by trains3 a7 S! D' a6 ]# Y
Swaying in the steaming draught& ^7 H! I% p% r- Y
Of the July plateau
